PARKERSBURG - Harris Highway neighbors of Main Environmental Services LLC presented a petition to Wood County commissioners signed by 111 neighbors who are ill-advised with what they say is "excessive noise," "strong smells" and around-the-clock operations at the enterprise.

About 12 residents told the commissioners Thursday they have contacted a million of county, state and federal agencies seeking help.

According to the supplicate, "CES has started up a trucking/chemical cleaning operation right in the mid-point of a residential neighborhood in Lubeck that has existed peacefully for more than half a century. The around-the-clock operations at the comrades has had a negative effect on our neighborhood; it disrupts our peace, reduces our standing of life and affects our health."

The petitioners asked the commissioners to "matter relocation" of the business from its location in Lubeck at 2130 Harris Highway or influence a rear about "changes in operating hours and procedures that at the present are keeping residents excite at night and expose residents to noise, strong smells and bright lights.
